Obituary

Shirley A. Rieger, 78, of Cleveland, TN passed away on March 11, 2014 at Life Care Center of Cleveland. Shirley was born on July 29th, 1935 in Youngstown, OH a daughter of the late Gordon L. and Gladys Rieger. Shirley lived for 20 years in Florida and later moved to Cleveland, TN in 2001. While living in Florida she received a nursing assistant certificate and worked at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, FL in the prenatal intensive care unit. She also was the care giver of her parents. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. Shirley enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was an awesome mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Shirley is survived by two sons Michael (Sandy) Slimmer of Crowley Texas and James L. Jr. (Kathy) Slimmer of East Freedom, PA, two daughters Luanne (Rick) Mizera of Cleveland, TN and Lisa Slimmer of Fort Myers, FL, her brothers Charles (Patty) Rieger of Pine Island, FL and Richard (Sue) Rieger of Pampano, Beach, FL. Shirley had 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren along with several nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her first husband James L. Slimmer and second husband Terry Whiteman and a granddaughter Tonya Feathers.

She was laid to rest in Fort Myers, FL.

Mom we love you all the days of our life, we know that you and dad are reunited again and in a wonderful place granted to you both by God. We love you.
