Obituary
Peggy O'neal McConnell, a Church of God Missionary who served with her husband, Robert McConnell, departed her earthly home on Thursday December 5, 2013. She was born on August 13, 1939 to the Late Oscar and Ruby Curtin. She served with her husband, Robert for 54 tremendous years in 10 different nations, as well as many years of pastoral service alongside her husband here in the United States. Hundreds of buildings, churches, schools, classrooms, water wells, and orphanages were constructed with the help of Peggy, and many different nationalities responded to the Gospel through her service and ministry. She also served many children and adults with her puppet ministry.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years, Robert, three sons Nathan McConnell (Tammy), Lance McConnell (Angela), Brett McConnell (Amanda), two brothers Oscar Curtin Jr. and Dan Curtin, three sisters Cynthia McKnight, Kathy Bolin, and Jolene Golden, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday December 9, 2013 from 5:30-8:00PM at Grace Assembly Church of God located at 1976 Westland Drive. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 10, 2013 at 1:00pm at Westmore Church of God located at 2412 Wolfe Ave. Gary Sears, Stephen Sewes and other Words Missions Leaders will be officiating. Interment will follow at Calhoun United Methodist Cemetery. Nathan, Lance, Brett, Colter, and Judah McConnell and Tim Hampton will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Church of God World Missions located at 2490 Keith Street, Cleveland, TN.
