Linda Sue Reed, lovingly called "Nanny", 81, of Ringgold, GA, passed away May 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born March 28, 1943, to the late Andrew Lawrence & Faye Louise Holbert, of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Linda loved going hiking, taking care of her cats, coloring and working puzzles, playing Yahtzee and spending time with her family. She instilled a love of Santa, Suncreen and Elvis Presley in her family.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her beloved cats, Fiddle and Faddle, Joe Kitty, Blacky, many stray neighborhood cats and even a skunk one time.

Survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ralph James Reed "Jim"; son, James Michael (Laricia) Reed, of Centennial, CO; daughter, Brenda Diane (Lamar), of Ringgold, GA; siblings, Gerald L. (Doris) Holbert, of Parkersburg, WV, Jackie L, (Dorothy) Holbert, of The Villages, FL, Dale E. (Barbara) Holbert, of Walker, WV, Helen Louise (Jack) Sampson, of Cisco, WV, Barbara Evans, of Vienna, WV, and Sandra Holbert, of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Gabby Sue, Elijah Grant, Micah Keith, Mary Elizabeth, Lyra Adele, and Emma Grace; a sister-in-law, Carol Reed; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Oreo. Many thanks to Heather, Kelly, and Nathan for caring for them as their own.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Companion Funeral Home- Chattanooga Chapel, 6018 John Douglas Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
