Jerry Hennessee

Jerry Hennessee, 76, went to his Heavenly home Thursday May

23, 2024 in Athens, Tennessee. Jerry was born on October 5, 1947

in Athens. The middle son born to Billy and Hazel Hennessee.

Jerry was preceded in death by his older brother Jackie and survived

by his younger brother Ron.

Jerry graduated Meigs County High School in 1965 where he

played baseball, basketball and football. He went on to receive

a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, the late Kimberly Moses of

Decatur and survived by his son, Chris Hennessee of Goodlettsville.

Jerry has 3 grandchildren: Matthew Moses, who is a teacher

and football coach in Dalton, GA. Hayes and August

Hennessee, who live in Goodlettsville with their parents Chris

and Rachael. He has many extended family members who live

in the Decatur and Athens area.

Jerry's love for sports and the great outdoors was passed down

to his children and grandchildren who benefit today from

lessons learned from him along the way. Jerry spent many

summer days fishing on the banks of Sewee Creek and the

Tennessee River he was so fond of.

Jerry was a member of Pleasant Hill UMC in Decatur, where

there will be a celebration of life at time yet to be determined. In

lieu of flowers or cards please make a donation of your choice
