Elvis Brandon

April 29, 1938 — December 23, 2023

Elvis Nash Brandon III, 85, of Cleveland was called home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, December 23, 2023. He was born in Woodbury, Tennessee on April 29, 1938, and was a member of the Cleveland community for over 60 years. Mr. Brandon was a member of Westwood Baptist Church at the time of his passing.

Elvis moved to Cleveland in the early 60's to serve as the music minister at North Cleveland Baptist Church, while also working as the head of financial aid and bookstore at Cleveland State Community College. Mr. Brandon returned to school to earn his B.S. in history from Lee University in the 70's. Elvis was a talented vocal artist with a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with anyone and everyone he could. He used his musical talents to serve at several churches in the Cleveland community, including serving as music minister at Stuart Park Baptist and First Baptist Church of Charleston, and as a Deacon at Westwood Baptist Church. Elvis also shared his musical talents and dedication to God with the senior community in Cleveland through the weekly devotions and worship sessions he lead at the North Cleveland Towers during the early 2000's.

Elvis loved the Lord, his family, and the city of Cleveland dearly. He served his community and provided for his family in many ways throughout his lifetime, working as the deputy sheriff for the Bradley County Police Department and Chief of Police for the Cleveland City Police, and volunteering as an Explorer Post group leader and pitcher for the youth softball team at Westwood Baptist Church. Elvis also served God beyond the Cleveland community through his participation in several mission trips to build churches in Honduras. Elvis Brandon spent his life leading his family to the Lord and following God's calling to bring many to Christ through his testimony and service to others.

Elvis was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis Nash Brandon II and Jesse Northcutt Brandon and his wife of 62 years, Jean Arbuckle Brandon. He is survived by his children and spouses, Elvis Nash IV (Lori) Brandon, Susan (Randy) Smith, and Jennifer (Wade) Sacca; his nine grandchildren, Cody (Paige) and Noah Brandon, Alexandria, Jake, Ben, and Luke Smith, and Matt (Sean), Cole, and Sydney Sacca; his great granddaughter, Lucy Noelle Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.

A homegoing service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 30th in the sanctuary at Westwood Baptist Church, with Reverend Steve Smartt officiating. Interment will be held at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens with Cody and Noah Brandon, Jake, Ben, and Luke Smith, and Matt and Cole Sacca serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 30th from 12:00-2:00pm at Westwood Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Gideons International. The family would like to thank the Cody family at Companion funeral home for helping us give Elvis the services he deserves.
