In Loving Memory of Charles Wayne Ramsey

Charles Wayne Ramsey, a beloved husband, dedicated father, cherished grandfather, and respected  of the community, passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 66. Born on March 30, 1957, in Newport, TN, Charles touched the lives of many during his time here on earth.

Charles was loving and devoted husband, married to his beloved wife, Ruth Ramsey, for Their bond was one of strength and unwavering love, an example for their family and friends. Charles was a source of warmth and support to his family, always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and an embrace.

Charles retired as a pattern designer at Jackson Manufacturing, Charles found his calling in the manufacturing industry. His artistic skills and attention to detail made him excel at his craft and garnered respect from his colleagues. Charles took great pride in his work, and his contributions will be long remembered by all who benefited from his expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Charles was defined by his love for his family. He was a devoted father to his children: Charles Dwayne Ramsey (Sandy), Michelle Harris (James), Melina Crawley (Chris), and Aaliyah Alexander (Devin). His children will always treasure the many lessons he taught them and the memories they shared together. Charles adored his twelve grandchildren: Elijah Ramsey, Cody Styles, Hunter Styles, Rebecca Styles, Destiny Styles, Jordan Hillard, Emily Crawley, Connor Crawley, Bryson Crawley, Cailan Alexander, Jeffery Alexander, and Arabella Alexander. He was a loving grandfather, always eager to support and encourage them in their pursuits. Charles also had the joy of being a great grandfather to his beloved great granddaughter, Skye; brother in laws: Michael Gates (Kathy) and Scott Buckner, both of Newport. 

In addition to his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, Charles is survived by his sister Marlene Cutshaw of Morristown, TN, sister Linda Green of Newport, TN, sister Renae Shults of Dandridge, TN, and brother Elmer Shults. He was preceded in death by his father, George Ramsey, and his mother, Viola Shults, as well as his stepfather, Delmer Shults, and his brothers, Fred Ramsey and Johnny Ramsey and sister in law Barbara Buckner. 

A visitation honoring Charles and celebrating his life will be held at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland from 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday, August 23rd. We invite friends, family, and all who knew Charles to come and pay their respects during this time of remembrance.

Charles will be laid to rest at a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Dandridge, TN at 1pm on Thursday, August 24th. The funeral service will be a solemn occasion, a time to reflect on the impact Charles had on our lives and to find comfort in the memories we hold dear.

Charles Ramsey will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted and compassionate soul, a pillar of strength for his family, and a beloved member of the community. His legacy will live on through those whose lives he touched, and his memory will be cherished for generations to come.
