Wilma Ruth Jeffers

Wilma Ruth Jeffers, 89, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was a longtime member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. Wilma loved cooking, baking, and house cleaning, as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid bowler who loved to compete in tournaments. She and her husband Archie started Jeffers Income Tax Service in 1972 and is still in operation today, run by her daughter Sue Perry. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Archie G. Jeffers; parents, Leslie and Lillie Branim Smithers; sisters Thelma Terry and Lessie Mae Story; grandparents, Perry and Lucinda Gentry Branim.

Wilma leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Edward G (Paula) Jeffers, Lillie Rose “Sue” (Mike) Perry, and David W (Minnie) Jeffers; grandchildren, April (Matthew) Readett and Allison (Jake) Gainey; great grandchildren, Trey Brown, Emma Brown, and Brisen Gainey; special neice, Melissa (Tim) Lowe; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6-8pm at Companion Funeral Home: Cleveland Chapel. The Celebration of life service will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1pm at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Michigan Avenue Baptist Church in her memory.
