William "Bill" Bailey

March 31, 1946 — December 6, 2016

William A. (Bill) Bailey 70,passed away peacefully from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident for several years.

Bill was a long-term resident of McMinn and Meigs County TN and a graduate of Oliver Springs High School. He served in the United States Army and was a Viet Nam veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Chambers Bailey and seven sisters, LeeILa Nipper, Athalene Webb, Earlene Lunceford, Emily Bailey, June Cordell, Dollie Lane, and Barbara Jean Wynn, and his Mother-in-Law, Reba M. Kerr.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nancy Kerr Bailey, children: Jeff Bailey, Robert Christian Smith, and Robin Brumback Rollins (Rusty), grandchildren: Alexis Brumback, Tyler Bailey, Sky Bailey, and Leeyla Bailey, Dan Brumback, II and great grandson Daniel Brumback. Sisters, Margaret Jones (Virgil) and Virginia Hughes (Johnny), brother-in-law, Jack Kerr (Jan). and sister-in-law, Connie Kerr Baumgardner and many beloved nieces and nephews and friends, including the staff at SCCRH Center .

There will be no formal visitation or service at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland TN and the Cody family are honored to assist the Bailey family with his arrangements with interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
