Obituary

Wendell Lee Cate, 74, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 30th, 2015 in a Chattanooga area hospital. Wendell was born on December 11, 1940 to the late Horace and Ruth Cate. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Wendell always enjoyed singing with the quartet at Westwood Baptist and spending time with his family. Most of all, he loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Along with his parents, Wendell is preceded in death by his brother Doug Cate.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years Cathy Cate; daughter Kelly Hamilton (Frank); brothers, Larry Cate and Mike (Janie) Cate; sisters, Dorris Browne (Milton), Marilyn Bevers (Mike), and Barbara Harrell (James) and grandchildren, Conner Hamilton, Mari Cate Hamilton, and Hayden Hamilton.

A celebration of life service is planned for 3:00pm on Sunday June 7, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.

The family will be receiving friends two hours prior, from 1:00pm until the 3:00pm service time.
