Tommy Gibson

Tommy Gibson, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 27, 2021. He was born on January 30, 1933 to the late Tom Logan Gibson and Anna Lou Gibson. Tommy was a devoted man of God and member of North Cleveland Baptist Church since 1957. He worked at Olin Chemical for 32 years and was a lifetime member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 134. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and also playing golf. Above all things, Tommy was a family man who loved his family dearly. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Tommy knew what he believed, what was important, and what was true.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Judy Gray and Jackie Gibson and his granddaughter Maggie Beth Gibson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 72 years, Naomi George Gibson; daughter Linda Tyler (John) and Doug Gibson (Punky); grandchildren: Logan Gibson (Jill Davis), Emily Gibson (Steven Lawhorn), Tammy Kaminski (Klay), Chris Tyler (Diane Dunn), and John Tyler Jr. He also leaves behind many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at 3pm on Thursday September 2, 2021 at North Cleveland Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service from 1pm to 3pm at the church. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the service. Tommy’s service will be live streamed at http://www.northclevelandbaptist.org.

Tom Reese-head, Kurt Schnebel, Ian Harper, Alan Gray, Chris Tyler, and Daryl Martin will serve as pallbearers. The North Cleveland Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
