Tina Marie Garrison

Tina Marie Garrison, 54, went to her forever resting place and got to walk through the pearly gates and enter the streets of gold to her forever home on April 19, 2022. She was born on March 10,1968 in Cleveland, TN the daughter of Johnny Wooten and Jean Cross. Tina’s pride and joy was caring for her family and most importantly spoiling her grandbabies. Tina was a lifetime member and presence at heart at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Englewood, TN. Tina was a beloved Wife, Mother, Nana, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and extended mom to all children who came into her life. Apart from being fully involved in church you would find Tina in a cabin, camping, fishing or cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and her family’s softball teams. Tina had a heart of gold, and she never came across a child that didn’t call her Momma, she will be missed by so many.
Tina is preceded in death by her grandparents Edna and Dillard Wooten and Bell and Red Jones. Mother and Father-in-law David and Pauline Garrison. Stepdad Robert Cross. Sister-in-law Pamela Choate. Her favorite precious little buddy, Joshua Freeman.

Tina is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin Garrison. Sons David, Kevin (Kevy), and Dakota Garrison. Her beloved daughter and lifelong best friend Sarah (Jonathan) Dodson. Grandchildren Kenny Smith, Summer Smith, Brooklyn Dodson, Autumn Smith, Mackenzie Dodson, Sophia Garrison, Hazelle Garrison, and Joshua Smith. Great Granddaughter Journee Smith. Parents Johnny (Janet) Wooten and Jean Cross. Sisters Sue and Sarah Beth Wooten. Brother-in-laws Brian (Heather) Garrison and Benjamin (Ben) Choate. Sister-in-law Ruthie Brendorfer. A host of several nieces and nephews that she considered more like her children. Also, to carry out Tina’s memory is all her church, softball, and community children.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Tina’s nurse Charlotte with Adoration Hospice of Harriman. Charlotte you truly were a blessing to our family and so sweet to my mother in our time of need.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 6:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens with Reverend Mark Hensley officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm prior to the service.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, Tennessee. With Josh Choate, Ricky Garrison, Tray Powell, Drew Holloway, David Moses, and Scott Nicholson serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Companion Funeral Home of Athens to contribute to Tina’s final expenses.
