Shannon Lynn Murphy Haney

June 25, 1968 — February 29, 2020

Shannon Lynn Murphy Haney, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, left this life for her Heavenly home February 29, 2020. Shannon leaves behind son, Adam Ryan Haney, and daughter, Amanda Dawn Dorsey; two grandchildren, Alaycia Lynn Marie Dorsey and Caden Elijah Bailey; mother, Trecia Watson, and father, James Murphy. She is the sister of Ken Daniel Murphy and Misty Ann Murphy Lawson, and the grandniece of Chris (Holly) Watson, Dennis (Susan) Watson and Kim (Charles) Watson Duncan. Shannon has one niece, Amber Brooke Burnett, and one nephew, Blake Belcher.

Shannon is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Arnold and Fannie Murphy, Frank and Wanda Taylor Watson; Great Grandparents William Wheeler and Berti Ellen Watson, and James L. and Lucy Miller Taylor.

She is of the Baptist faith and past member of Council Baptist Church, Gum Springs, Burdett Chapel, Washington Avenue Baptist Church, and Cedar Springs Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Bradley High School where she was active in playing tennis.

She attended Cleveland State and was employed by Watson's Food Store and Maytag. She was a dedicated and hard worker. She is an accomplished electrician and plumber, often doing her own tasks alone. She is also skilled with a circular saw and drill, unusual talents for such a petite female.

Shannon's eyes always beamed with life and sparkled with enthusiasm. Her smile is radiant and overwhelmingly infectious. She has a gentle and humble spirit which fills her being. God chose a perfect angel on Saturday, February 29, 2020, when He escorted her Home. Each heart that she touched will gravely miss her loving soul and spirit.

Shannon loves her children and lavished her love around them. She expressed her love in celebrating birthdays, and holidays, especially Christmas. She routinely baked them cookies each Saturday evening. She loves Raggedy Ann dolls and wild flowers. Her favorite music came from the Bee Gee's. Shannon has a profound, unfathomable love for music.

She will be significantly missed by her close knit family, and her mother, Trecia, and daughter, Amanda, who provided 24/7 care for her these last years.
