Ruth Ann Boring

Ruth Boring, 85, went home to be with Jesus Saturday evening, January 19, 2019. She was born August 4, 1933 to John and Alice Frazier Darnell. She was a devoted daughter, excellent wife, and loving mother. Ruth was a member of Waterville Baptist Church, but more importantly she was a child of God. She had a great gift for sewing and began work at the Uniform Factory at age 18. She went on to work at Hardwick Clothes and retired from there. She was an excellent role model to her children in how she loved and cared for her husband of 58 years. She had a quiet, sweet spirit that was evident to everyone around her, and she was strong in her faith and love for her family.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Frazier Darnell, husband, Charles Elmer Boring, and her oldest son, Doug Boring.
Survivors include her son, Greg Boring and wife Lori of Cleveland. Daughter, Melissa Newsome and husband Bo of Sevierville, TN, Daughter-in law, Dara Boring of Cleveland. Grandchildren, Lara Helton and husband Steven, Mark Boring and wife Sarah, Luke Newsome and wife Nalynn, Dalton Newsome. Step-grandchildren include Meghann Harper and husband Chris, Will Rice and wife Shannon, and Ben Rice. Sister in law, Bernice Boring, who was a wonderful friend to her. Ruth is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her children; also aunt, Robbie Dean Frazier.
The family would like to thank Signature Healthcare for the excellent care given to her. Also, thanks to Charlene Moore, Eagle Home Care, and Guardian Home Health and many others who took care of Ruth. Lynn Dykes and the Sunday School Class at Waterville Baptist. The family will receive friends on Thursday night January 24, 2019 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday January 25, 2019.
