Rudy Neal Beaty Sr.

May 24, 1935 — November 6, 2015

Rudy Neal Beaty, Sr., 80, of Cleveland, TN passed away on November 6, 2015. He was born on May 24, 1935 to the late Leonard Beaty and Lottie Wooden Beaty. Rudy was a 1953 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He went to work for Resolute Forrest Products (Bowater Southern Paper Co.) and worked there until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Phillippi Baptist Church since 1961. Rudy was Ordained as a Deacon at Phillippi on July 1, 1962. He was Sunday School Director, Sunday School Class Teacher and Vacation Bible School Director for over 40 years. Rudy was an avid Bible Scholar.


Foremost, Rudy was a devout Christian and loved his Lord and Savior and his church family. He loved reading his bible and studying for Sunday School lessons. He also cherished his wife and family. He was always willing to help anyone in need.


He loved watching Tennessee Vols Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball. You could find him from time to time going to watch a game of the Bradley Central Bears and Bearettes. He was about youth sports as well. He coached Dixie Youth Baseball for 8-9, 10-11-12 year olds for several years. He loved taking his grandsons to Florida every year for their vacation.


In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife W. Juanita “Cooter” Beaty and brother Robert “Bob” Beaty.


He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons: Rudy, Jr. “Skip” Beaty (Donna) and Barry Beaty (Debbie); brother Rev. Billy Beaty and sisters Itzeltean Matthews and Brenda Hall; grandchildren: Brandon Beaty (Mandy), Rudy Lynn Beaty, Jacob Beaty, and Joshua Beaty; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Beaty and Candace Beaty.


A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday November 8, 2015 at Phillippi Baptist Church with Dr. Sammy Hooker officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Interment will be held at 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Monday November 9, 2015. A funeral procession will leave from Phillippi Baptist Church at 10:30am. Darrell Bottoms, Stanley Millsaps, Greg Parker, Jeff Spence, Lake Harden and Little Rudy Beaty will serve as pallbearers.
