Rebecca Juanita Heath

December 22, 1958 — September 16, 2021

Rebecca Juanita (Becky) Heath, 62, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, in Chattanooga, TN. She was a current resident of Collegedale, TN. The world was first blessed with her presence on December 22, 1958, when she was born in Bethany, MO, to the late George Hubert (Bert) and Mildred Kathleen (Dunbar) Heath.

Becky learned she had leukemia early in 2020. Through her entire experience, she never lost faith. She knew that God had a plan for her, and she was ready for whatever path He led her to follow. She spent weeks, and sometimes months, in the hospital for treatment, but was always cheerful and ready to share God’s love with anyone she spoke with. When she went to sleep for the last time, she was able to rest in the knowledge that she was ready to meet her Savior. There is no doubt that Jesus has a mansion waiting for her in heaven.

Family was one of the most important aspects of Becky’s life. She loved her family, especially her son, Charlie, and grandson, Leman. She dedicated much of her life to her loved ones and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Her spirit of dedication was also evident in her work. For many years Becky worked as a certified nurse’s aide and tech. She earned multiple certifications and was loved and respected at the hospital in which she worked. Later, as a patient in that same hospital, many of her former colleagues had become her caretakers, and treated her with the loving care that she deserved. Her family is grateful for the professionals who cared for her.

Along with her parents, Becky is preceded in death by an older brother, James Heath, who died when he was quite small. She leaves behind her son, Charles Bowers (April), and grandson, Leman Bowers. She is also survived by her siblings David Heath, Margie Whitaker (Joe), Linda Heath, Danny Heath (Carol), and Pamela Rogers.

The family sends a special, “Thank you,” to everyone who prayed for Becky, and was there for her through her journey. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 26, at 11am at the Apison Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 11421 Bates Rd. in Apison, TN 37302.
