Ralph Emerson Lillard, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday September 16, 2015. He was born on July 3, 1932 to the late Carl Emerson and Helen Howard Lillard of Polk County. He retired from the DuPont Company in Chattanooga where he worked for 32 years, He became a Mason and served as Worship Master in 1958, and as secretary for 25 years. He joined the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Patron and as secretary for 10 years. He became a Scottish Rite Mason and served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Polk County Scottish Rite Club. He became a 32nd degree Mason in 1967, and served a Degree Master for the 4th Degree for many years. He was sponsoring Chapter Dad for Chilhowee Order of DeMolay in 1971. Ralph has served as Chairman of the Polk County Republican Primary Election Board, and also as a member and secretary of the Polk Country Election Commission. Ralph was Polk County campaign manager for U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senator Bill Brock.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Nina Mantooth Lillard, son Dwight Lillard, a daughter-in-law, Janice Lillard, and a stepson, Allen Hicks Ellis.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Judy Ellis Lillard, son Wendale Lillard of Benton, TN, daughters Karen (Glenn) Kennedy, of Hixson, TN, Kathy (Tony) Triplett, of Powder Springs, GA, and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Lillard, of Old Fort, TN. He also leaves behind his stepchildren: Denise McCormick, Jackie Lindner, Jeff and Rodney Hicks, grandchildren: Jeff Lillard, Jeni Lawson, Aimee Lillard, Erin Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, James Triplett, Justin Triplett, Daniel Pankey, and Lyndsey Sandridge, step-grandchildren: Chassie Hooker, Kelly Reich, Zac Hicks, Rusty Davis, Amanda LaRue, Christina Hicks, Dustin Hicks, Cody McCormick, great-grandchildren: Haylee & Ethan Volker, Eli Brown, Jacob Lawson, Lacy & Tessa Lawson, Callie Pankey, and Bailey Sandridge, and step-greatgrandchildren, Lorien Reich, Dalton Reich, Cathern Reich, and Peyton Hooker.

A celebration of life memorial service is planned for 5:30pm on Saturday September 19, 2015 at the Mountain View Baptist Church in Polk County.

The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior from 4:00pm until the 5:30pm service time.
