Neva Irene Gates

Neva “Irene” Gates, 71, of Cleveland passed away August 6, 2019 following an extended illness. She was born in Benton and loved to sew, work in her flower garden, paint and travel. She was a Baptist by faith.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Ollis and Jewel Dabbs; brothers, Edward and Willard Dabbs; sister, Magalene Cates; and a son Travis Gates.

Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Lamar Gates; Sons, Steve and Rodger Gibson; step-sons, Randy and Rickie Gates; grandchildren, Alyssa Gibson, Mitchel Gibson, Corey Gates, Kara leach, Ryan Gates, Summer Gates, Tristan Gates, Chandler Gates, and Blake Woody; and brothers, Robert Dabbs and Lloyde Dabbs

The family will receive friends Friday, August 9, 2019 from 11am to 1pm at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland. Funeral services will be at 1pm with Pastor Fletcher Ferris officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
