Merven Carr

Merven “Merv” Carr, 81, of Cleveland, TN passed away on September 24, 2022 surrounded by his wife, Susan (Honey Love) and family that loved him dearly.. He was born on August 17, 1941 to the late Stanley and Kathleen Carr. Merv was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending his time on the water. Merv was a loving husband, father, Pa Paw, and Poppy. Merv was a tremendous man of God who loved the Lord. He also was a gifted singer and enjoyed singing praise and worship songs.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his twin brother Erven Carr and grandson Weston Carr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Susan; three sons and two stepsons: Steve Carr (Jennifer), Randy Carr (Karla), Doug Carr (Malinda), Jeff Carson (Robin), and Chris Carson (Claire); three sisters and one brother; grandchildren: Matthew Carr, Tanner Kincaid, Jeremy Carr, MacKenzie Carr, Josh Carr, Sara Carr, Jared Carr, Brett Carson (Heather), Tanner Carson (Jaime); two great granddaughters that were the love of his life: Lainey Carson and Oaklee Carson. Merv would always tell his great granddaughters “Love you to the moon and back, Poppy.”

Merv’s family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm on Friday September 30th with a memorial service to follow at 1pm. Pastor Gary Linbugh will be officiating and military honors will be rendered.
