Obituary

Marcus Edsel Dawkins, age 52, passed away peacefully on July 22nd. Marcus was born November 24, 1961 in Valdosta, GA. Possessing a natural athletic ability, he excelled in football, basketball and track during his youth. Later, as an adult, Mr. Dawkins worked as a salesman selling cars, motorcycles and watercraft in the Orlando area. Over the years he was employed with various dealerships as a salesman and also worked in managerial positions. He was blessed with the "gift of gab" and always had a humorous story or joke tell. He was popular with the many nephews and nieces he had and was considered by many of them to be the "favorite uncle". It was his wit and humor that made many friends over the years.

Within the last few years, Mr. Dawkins' health began to wane and he moved from Orlando to Fayetteville, TN to live near his older brother. Within the last two years he had reconnected with his high school sweetheart and had moved to the Chattanooga area. These last two years have been happy ones for him and he will be dearly missed by his family. Marcus was the youngest of five boys that were born to Clifford and Retha Dawkins, now deceased. He is survived by Richard, Gary, Robbin and Clifford, Jr., and his girlfriend, Priscilla Harrell.
