Louis James Murphy

Louis James Murphy, 75 a resident of Athens, TN Passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019, at Parkwest Hospital, Knoxville, TN. He was born March 16, 1944 in Sharon, CT a son of the late Louis Ballerini and Ida Murphy. Louis was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah, TN. He is a retired fireman Captain from North River Fire Department, Palmetto, Florida, where he served for 25 years. Louis was fireman of the year in 1985, 1986, and 1989. He also owned a lawn maintenance business. He loved farming and woodworking.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by one daughter, Lisa Hess.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Suzanne Gibson Murphy of Athens, TN, four children Lori Skaggs, Elizabeth Conrad, Kristina Murphy Whightsel of Palmetto, Florida and Michael M. Murphy of Athens, TN, one sister, Barbara Pierce of Mayakka, Florida, seven grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
