Lorene Benton Brown

Lorene Benton Brown went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

She was born November 12, 1937 to the late Robert and Mamie Benton.

Lorene was a life-long resident of the Cleveland area and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a 1955 graduate of Bradley Central High School. After staying home to raise their daughter for several years, she became a dedicated employee of Lay & Co. After her years of employment she enjoyed retirement as a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and traveling. Lorene also loved attending Bible Study groups where she was always strengthening her relationship with the Lord. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved spending time with her family.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jimmie M. Brown, her parents, and her sisters, Elsie Kirksey and Barbara Brock.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kim Brown Hawes, niece Dranda Kirksey Whaley and nephew Benny Kirksey (Donna).

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 am.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will not be a visitation prior to the service.
