Linda Lou Mathews

Linda Lou Mathews, 80, of Cleveland, TN passed away on April 27, 2019. She was born on March 12, 1939 to the late William (Bill) and Agnes Withrow. Linda was a lifelong resident of Bradley County and active member of Mt. Olive Church of God. She was a sports fan who especially loved the Bradley Bears and Bearettes. Linda had a love for travel and would often be found on a cruise ship. Above all things, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her daughter Mimi Cheryl Mathews; brothers Paul Withrow and Bobby Withrow; sister Mamie Lee Tinsley; grandson Chadwick Brian Mathews.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of more than 60 years, Lawrence Mathews; two sons: Brent Mathews (Missy) and Brian Mathews (Cathy); sister Sue Beam; grandchildren: Erin Langley, Nathan Mathews, Austin Mathews, and Ashlin Mathews; great granddaughter Cassidy Johnson and great great grandson Ryker Johnson. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday May 2, 2019 at Mt. Olive Church of God located at 3522 Harrison Pike Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00pm at the church following visitation with Pastors Paul Lee, Gary Sears, and James Sears officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00am on Friday May 3, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Olive Church of God at the address above.
