Julian Henry Mcspadden

Julian Henry McSpadden, 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away during the early hours of Saturday, November 9, 2019. He was born May 30, 1931 in Bradley County to the late Ruel Rosco McSpadden and Myrtle Ellen Philips McSpadden. He was a 1951 graduate of Bradley Central High School. Immediately following high school, Henry served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He spent the majority of his career working for Olin Corporation, from where he retired in 1995, after 32 years.
Henry was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Henry and his wife Ellen Jean were the longest season ticket holders for the Bradley Central Bears. Attending Bradley’s basketball and football games were one of many pastimes that he enjoyed. He also enjoyed golfing with his nephew David and helping family on the farm or wherever there was work that needed to be done.
A loving husband, brother, and uncle, Henry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ellen Jean Rogers McSpadden; Sister-In-Law: Martha Rogers Brown; Nephews and Nieces: Bobby Rogers and his wife Carolyn, Glen Rogers and his wife Del, James Rogers and his wife Diane, William Rogers and his wife Anna Fariello, Donald Rogers and his wife Carlene, Kathy Brown Ownby and her husband Randall, Lorrie Rogers Duke and her husband Billy, Brenda Overtree, Don McSpadden, Larry McSpadden, Greg McSpadden, Yvonne McSpadden Martin, Daniel Moore and his wife Gina; Great-Nephews and Nieces: Becky Ownby Brady, Lacey Love, Scott Dyer, D.J. Martin, Amy Beavers and her husband Brian, Jason Rogers, Josh Rogers and his wife Julie, Thomas Rogers and his wife Shawnel, Lindsay Rogers, Stephen Ownby and his wife Mary, Jeremy Rogers and his wife Stephanie, Jennifer Rogers, Tess Rogers Mchone and her husband Brett, Stacey Rogers and her fiancé Todd Torbett, Andy Rogers, David Ownby and his fiancé Tiffany Dessert, Gunner Wright and his wife Keisha, Sharon Moore Callahan and her husband Brandon, Travis Duke and his wife Celeste, Emily Duke and her husband Tristan, Jason Moore and his wife Gwyn, Skylar Moore; several great- great- nieces and nephews; also surviving are special friends Ken and Dianne Webb.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12th with graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by Ramon Torres and Chris Rouse. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Agape Sunday School Class.
