Gertrude Hampton

Obituary

Gertrude Stella Hampton, 91, of Etowah, TN passed away on August 31, 2015. She was born on October 21, 1923 to the late Alfred and Mamie Sylvester. She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County. Gertrude was a very hard worker, loved reading the Bible and listening to gospel music, spending time with her grandchildren, and was an avid TN Vols football fan.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband James Harvey Hampton; sons James David Hampton and Larry Don Hampton; daughter Judith Ann Hampton.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Barbara Gaddis (Jimmy); brother Jimmy Sylvester (Brenda); sister Carrie-Lee ODaniel and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Friday September 4, 2015 at Green Hill Cemetery in Etowah, TN.
