Gary Williamson

Gary Lynn Williamson, age 72, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away , Thursday, January 23, 2020.

Gary was born on July 8, 1947, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Earl Williamson, Sr. and Gladys Fennell Williamson. Gary entered the US Army in 1966, attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, A Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Overseas Service Bars and a Combat Infantry Badge.

Gary married the love of his life, Gayle Reynolds on December 31, 1971. He graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BS degree in Business and became a Certified Public Accountant working in private practice in Cleveland, TN for many years.

He loved living and boating on the Hiwassee River and opening his home to family and friends. He was passionate about radio-controlled aircraft including airplanes, helicopters, and quad copters. He enjoyed the precision task of building the aircraft and then flying them for his friends.

His parents and his wife Gayle, preceded him in death; his sister, Mary Williamson; brother, Earl Williamson, Jr.; mother-in-law, Imogene Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Karen Morgan, Terry Burquist, Marie Williamson; brother-in-law, David Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews survive him.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
