Floyd Thomas Stokes

June 16, 1930 — November 23, 2018

Floyd Thomas Stokes, 88, of Georgetown, TN passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born on June 16, 1930 to the late Floyd Thomas Stokes and Sallie Marie Wagner Stokes. Floyd was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served for 3 years and attained the rank of Corporal. He has lived in Georgetown all of his life and was a member of the Church of Christ. He served as a gospel preacher of the Michigan Ave Road Church of Christ. Floyd loved to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife Gloria M. Stokes and three sisters and one brother.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Sally Marie Cooksey (James “Bo” Cooksey); son Larry Stokes (Roxann); three sisters: Dale Ray, Tina Ellis, and Nancy Malone; two brothers Lawrence Stokes and Herbert Stokes. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 2:00pm on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at McInturff Cemetery. Barry Smith and Rodney Pitts will be officiating.
