Emma Sue Tallent

Emma Sue Tallent, 76, a lifelong resident of McMinn County passed away on Monday night, February 12, 2018 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born on March 30, 1941 in Sweetwater, TN as daughter of the late Fred & Minerva Wyrick Stout. Emma Sue was a member of Burls Chapel Baptist Church. She loved collecting various items, but will be most remembered for the loved she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Emma Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband Richard Tallent Sr., two sons Richard Tallent Jr., (Stacy) and Rob Tallent, two daughters Sylvia McDonald (Tim) and Michelle King (Michael), one sister Helen Stout, ten grandchildren Heather King, Heath King, Jenna King, Cody King, Dylan Tallent, Brandon Tallent, Rose Martin, Michael Elliott, Megan McDonald, Sylvanna McDonald and Tamara McDonald, three great grandchildren Rouri Martin, Zoe Martin and Wayne Levi Elliott, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Thursday night, February 15, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home of Athens located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN with the Reverend Richard Tallent Jr., and the Reverend Jeff Evans officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.

The family will meet at the funeral home on Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM and go in procession to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11:00 AM committal service.
