Eldon "Shane" Strickland

Eldon “Shane” Strickland, 47, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday September 25, 2017. Shane was of the Baptist faith. He loved gardening, cooking, and being outside. He also loved his dogs, who were always by his side. But more than anything, he loved his family. Shane will be dearly missed by all those that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Rockland “J.R.” & Mary Joyce Albritton Strickland; and step-daughter, Emily Orr Varnell.
Shane leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving siblings, Sonya Rymer (Gary) and James “Jimmy” Strickland (Chanda); step-daughter, Meredith Orr; grandchildren, Kaylie & Jordon Varnell; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Strickland (Ginger), Mikey Strickland, and Dana Ballew (Cameron); great-niece, Marley Flowers; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service at 7:00pm on Thursday September 28, 2017 at Samples Memorial Baptist Church, located at 371 Samples Chapel Road SE, Cleveland, TN 37323 with Pastors Mark Cameron and Daniel White officiating the service.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 5:00pm until the 7:00pm service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Kidney Foundation or to the family to cover final expenses.
