Edward Eddie Hooker, Sr.

August 22, 1945 — June 7, 2021

Edward Hooker, Sr., better known as “Eddie” was a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was faithfully answered the call of duty when he was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War era from October 1965 to October 1967. In adulthood, he moved to Georgia, but Cleveland was always home. He was a hard-working provider for his family. He made his living as a truck driver which he enjoyed. His CB handle was “Big Red”. After his retirement, he enjoyed listening to gospel music and attending concerts. He liked to play computer games, watch favorite TV shows and surf the internet which he called “nettin”. When he introduced himself to new people, he would say, “Just call me Mr. Ed”
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Duard and Sylvia Hooker; three brothers, David Hooker, Wayne Hooker, and Johnny Lee Hooker; his sister, Brenda Hooker Adams. He is survived by his brother, Lester Hooker, of Cleveland, TN.
Eddie is survived by his daughter, Lora Hooker Hall, of Chatsworth, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hooker, Jr., of Cohutta, Georgia; and his son, Michael Shawn Hooker, of Covington, Georgia, He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Joey Connell, L.K. Cogdill, Rachel and Rafael Aguilera, Justin Hooker, and AbbiLyn Hooker. Eddie is also survived by his great-grandchildren as well, Camdyn Connell, Jude Connell, and Emelia Aguilera.
In addition to his immediate family, he was survived by several nephews and nieces who loved their “Uncle Eddie” very much.
