Dorothy Faye Beard

Dorothy Beard, 91 of Cleveland, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2019. Dorothy was born on November 7, 1927 in Malden, MO to Arthur and Hattie Cox.

Dorothy was raised and lived in Flint, Michigan most of her life. She was an active member of the West Flint Church of God, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. In 2002, Dorothy moved to Cleveland, TN, to spend her remaining years near her three sons and their families, and became a member of North Cleveland Church of God.

Dorothy was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Hattie Cox, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

She is survived by her three sons Kenneth Beard and wife Judy, Keith Beard and wife Kitty, Rick Beard and wife Rhonda, as well as 13 grandchildren: Brian Beard and wife Janna, Darleah Terrell and husband Blaine, Blake Beard and wife Jessica, Apryle Griffith, Brant Beard and wife Molly, Jamie Mlinarich and husband Matt, Lindsay Simpkins and husband Josh, and 14 great grandchildren: Blakely Dillard and husband Tanner, Baylor Terrell, Blaire Terrell, Braylon Beard, Bryant Beard, Mitchell Hudson, Carter Hudson, Embry Beard, Corrina Beard, Sadie Beard, Carson Mlinarich, Olivia Mlinarich, Fischer Mlinarich.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Monday, July 15 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

A memorial service in celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held Monday, July 15 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
