Donovan Lee Klaaren

Donovan Lee Klaaren, 91, passed away January, 24, 2019 in a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on June 7, 1927 in Marshalltown, IA to Aber and Dortha Crom. Donovan was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He loved to entertain with his beautiful tenor voice and his sense of humor. Donovan and Marilyn were members of Hayesville UMC where he was a Layleader and sang in the choir. He will be missed by everyone that had the privilege to know him.
Donovan leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn Specht Klaaren; children, Terry (Dori(d)), Debora (Bruce), Timothy (Donna), Tobe (Kathy), and Kimberly (Martie); along with 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Pat, Ruth and Doris.
A celebration of his life will be determined at a later date.
