Obituary
David Wayne Sutton, 57, of Athens, passed away Monday, December 29th, at his home. A native of Michigan, he was currently residing in Athens. He left his heavenly home for a better home with his loving God. He attended elementary school in Detroit, Michigan. He was a long haul truck driver by trade. He enjoyed fishing with his nephews and sitting on the porch rocking with family and friends. David was the kind of man to give you the shirt off his back and would help anybody in need.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Sutton; mother and step-father, Gladys Lucille and Charles Everett Mashburn as well as his brother John Sutton who passed away on November 15th of this year.
He is survived by his wife Shelley Sutton, and sons Mathew & Joshua Sutton all of Michigan. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his two brothers Roger Sutton, of Tennessee and Charles (Diane) Sutton, of Michigan, three sisters, Dawn Sutton, Christy (Richard) Peters, and Joanne Morgan, all of Athens, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.
A service is planned for 3:00PM on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at Pond Hill Baptist Church located at 1286 Co. Rd 250 Niota, TN 37826. The family will receive friends from 2 hours prior from 1:00PM until the 3:00PM service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family.
