Carol Ann Creech

Obituary
Carol Ann Creech, 74, a longtime resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 12, 2015 in a Chattanooga Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1941 to the late Earl Cowan and Mary Ruth Starnes. Carol had been a resident of Cleveland, TN since 1962 after moving here with her husband Bill from Fort Benning, GA. Carol will be remembered for many things throughout her life from her beautiful smile, uncanny sense of humor, humble and gentle spirt, and innate way of seeing the good in almost any circumstance or situation. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family. However, this was not a task that she took lightly. Carol made very good use of her time as she volunteered for Skyridge/Bradley Healthcare for more than thirty five years, helped with the Special Olympics, and created home goods baskets to be auctioned off for local missions. Whatever the task was at hand, Carol took great pride in serving others and giving back to those around her. She was a master gardener, excellent seamstress, quilter, and gifted musician. Carol sang in the First Baptist Church Choir until the orchestra was formed and then began playing the French horn for them. She also played in the Cleveland Community Orchestra and was a very excellent pianist. Her love for music began early on in life, as she performed as a majorette in high school, as well as a backup singer for The Doo Wop Band. Above all things Carol will be remembered for, she will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and cherished her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Bill Creech; two daughters: Debbie Creech Webb (Joel) and Kim Creech; son Scott Creech (Debbie); sister Fonda Marbury; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Creech (Katie), Ryan Creech, Haley Thurmond (Russell), Drew Webb (Allison), Kaitlin Webb Cordero (Stephen), Alyssa McAfee, and Kristen McAfee; two great grandchildren: Charlie Creech and Hattie Grace Creech.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday August 15, 2015 at First Baptist Church Cleveland located at 1275 Stuart Road, Cleveland, TN with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 7:00pm prior to the service on Saturday.
