Bruce Eugene Bester

Bruce Eugene Bester passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the age of 96, in Knoxville, Tennessee. His sons were by his side during his peaceful transition. Bruce was a Methodist born on October 8, 1925, in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania. He lived in Columbus, Ohio with his loving wife of 33 years, Marlene A. Bester.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents John P. Bester and Lilla M. Bester, 9 siblings, his first wife Ceora J. Bester, and stepson Keith A. Forsythe.

He is survived by Marlene; his and Ceora’s sons and daughter: Scott E. Bester, Keith J. Bester, Laura Anderson Ahlson; stepsons: Kenneth R. Forsythe, Kyle W. Forsythe; five Brgrandchildren: April M. Wells (Randy), Scott W. Bester, Heather Norwood (Justin), Victoria Anderson, Richard Anderson; and five great grandchildren.

Bruce was a Veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and US Air Force during the Korean War. Bruce was a mechanic on the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and B-29 Superfortress bombers. He retired from Capital Track Company in Columbus, OH as a machinist.
