Betty J Schwengler, age 82, went to her heavenly home on December 18, 2018. She was born August 20, 1936 in Red Bay, AL.
She preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Jackson of 46 years.
She leaves behind her husband Kurt Schwengler of 13 years; three surviving sisters, LaVara Nix, Shirley Mintern, Nelda Nelson; sister-in-law, Nell Anderson; three children, Sharon (Grover) Rivenbark, Theresa West, Keith (Cindy) Jackson; step-son, Junior Schwengler; grandchildren: Melissa (Lamond) Wells, Alison (Casarae) Lattimore, Jon (Lauren) Clayton. Kelley (Ben) Franklin, Cayce West, Christopher West, Cody (Katlin) West. Arlo Camp, Aaron Camp, Abigail (Dan) York; great grandchildren: Alexis, Bella & Gunner Clayton. Emily, Hannah, Hardy & Jackson Franklin. Arianna Rodriguez. Levi York.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all!
Betty served as a minister's wife for many years; ministering beside her husband Bob in the states of IL, SC and TN.
She had an excellent work ethic! Betty briefly worked as a CNA with Life Care and a seamstress in an alteration shop while living in Cleveland. While living in RedBay, AL, she worked beside her husband Bob as owner/operator of Jackson's Steak & Pizza and delivered Allegro Bay motorhomes across the US.
She enjoyed hobbies of knitting, crocheting, sewing & gardening.
Upon her return to Cleveland, she participated in activities at the Senior Center that included bingo, pool, bowling and dancing. Betty & Kurt were excellent dancing partners & were crowned Dancing King & Queen.
Betty was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by family & friends!
Thank you to all who supported Betty & family with personal visits, words of kindness, encouragement and frequently needed prayers!
Deep appreciation to At Home Primary Care, Renee; Brookdale Alzheimer's and Memory Care Community (Chassidy, Julie, Tammy, April, Riza, Montana, Servillia, Sydney, Teri, Jennifer, Amberly, Maria and former team members Luke, Brenda & Ashley); Amedisys, Jennifer; Caris Hospice, (Hannah & LeaAnne) who provided excellent care to our loved one and became like family to us during her stay at Brookdale.
