Alan Baxter Cranfill

May 1, 1956 — July 22, 2022

Alan Baxter Cranfill, 66, a lifelong resident of Dayton mountain left this world July 22, 2022 at 12:22 am. He went to be with his savior; his parents, Alvin "Buddy" and Johnnie Cranfill; brother, Dexter Cranfill; and grandparents Bruce and Margaret Cranfill; along with John and Edna Heedlee.

Alan spent over 40 years working with Cranfill Construction Company where he became an extraordinary painter and overall skillful at building anything he set his mind to. Everyone enjoyed his interesting conversations and his honest approach to life.

Alan will always be loved and missed by his daughter Kristin Cranfill Peppers; his grandsons, Braxton Couch, Bryson Couch and Tristan Peppers; his lifelong best friend, Fran Cranfill Dent; and his sister, Debbie (Stanley) Jewell.

He loved spending time with Kristin teaching her to build or simply having a good conversation. Riding the lawnmower with his grandsons or taking them to school. He had strong family values always there if anyone needed him. To us there is no one like our "big guy" and we will always know he felt the same about us.

The family appreciates all thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. You are invited to share a personal memory of Alan or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Athens and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
