Wayne Everett Collier

September 22, 1945 — May 19, 2017

Wayne Everett Collier, 71, of Harrison went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2017. Wayne was born in Charlottesville, Virginia and was brought to Chattanooga as part of the management team for Kmart. He was an avid lover of music and an active member of Bayside Baptist Church and the choir. Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his parents, James Irving and Hattie Lee Collier, brother, James Junior (Gay) Collier, and sister, Earline (David) Wells. Wayne is survived by his wife Mary and three children, Jonathan (Rounak) Collier of Birmingham, Alabama, Suzanne (Jim) Melescue of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Angela (Tom) Bliss of Savannah, Georgia. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber Melescue, Julian Collier, Jayme Melescue, Emma Bliss and Benjamin Bliss. He is also survived by one brother, Harold (Polly) Collier of Lee Summit, Missouri as well as several nieces and nephews and his loyal canine companion, Madeline. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Bayside Baptist Church, 6100 Highway 58, Harrison, TN, 37341 and will have a Celebration service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Bayside Baptist Church Music or Missions ministries.
