Winfred L. Sluder

Winfred L. Sluder, 87, a resident of Ten Mile, TN, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2017. Winfred was a pastor for 37 years where he zealously served 8 churches throughout East Tennessee. He loved to garden and mow, but more than anything he loved sharing his love for The Lord and showed that to everyone around him. Although he did not have any biological children, he and his late wife, Juanita Sluder, were parents to many children and impacted their lives immensely.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Juanita Sluder, and his brothers, Gene Sluder, and F.L. Sluder.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Shane Guffee (Rebekah) and their children, Sarah Isabella and James Proctor; sister, Frances Scott; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday April 14, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 2:00pm, also at Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Couch officiating the service.
Winfred will be laid to rest following the service at the Murray Memorial Gardens.
