Obituary
Willie Mae Hamby, 88, a lifelong resident of Athens, TN passed away on Wednesday night, August 13th, 2013 at her home. Willie was born in Athens, TN on October 18th, 1924 a daughter of the late Faddie & Josie Gregory. She was of the Christian faith. Willie will always be remembered for the way she loved her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Willie is preceded in death by her husband Charles Hamby, one daughter Wanda Wheeler and one son James Hamby.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory five daughters Mary Collins, Joann Blankenship, Janice Lawson and husband Tommy, Brenda Hamby and Glenda Hamby, one son Eugene Hamby, twenty grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, August 16th, 2013 at 5:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Tabernacle located at 251 County Road 128 in Athens, TN with Pastor Jeff Evans officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the 5:00 PM service time.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 6221 Shallowford Road Suite 102, Chattanooga, TN 37421 in Willie’s memory.
