Willie “Bill” Brooks, 91, a resident of Old Fort, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born on July 17th, 1924 to the late Susie Fowler. Bill retired from Hardwick Stove after 40+ years of service. He also served his country during World War II in the US Army. Bill was known for always being on the farm, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Mae Baxter Brooks and his grandson, Todd Brooks.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two sons, Trony (JoAnn) Brooks and Rick Brooks and his special friend, Patti Dalton; grandchildren, Greg Brooks and Eric Brooks; great-grandchildren, Logan, Madison, and Jenna Brooks; very special friend, Ann Buckner, along with numerous friends and extended family members.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, May 13th, 2016 at the Ball Play Baptist Church, with Pastor Matthew Harris officiating the service. A visitation period will be held 3 hours prior, from 4:00pm until the 7:00pm service time.
Interment will take place the next day at 4:00pm on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 in the Dill Cemetery. Eric Brooks, Logan Brooks, Greg Brooks, Bryan Carver, Al Bramlett, and Gary Harris will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scot Dalton, Tyson Bramlett, Terry Baxter, and Doug Carver.
