William “Roy” Odom (Peno, as most know him), 87, September 24, 1933-September 17, 2021. He was born and raised in Cleveland, TN, to Tom and Pauline Odom.
Roy was a deacon and faithful member of Faith Memorial Church since 1968. He retired from Bowater in 2000, after 25 years. He had numerous jobs to support his family; BF Goodrich, Benton Pontiac, Shoney’s, Star Vue, Grand Lunch, Coleman Open Pit Barbecue, Magic Chef, officiating TSSAA (football), baseball, basketball & softball; and Bradley CO. Utilities. Roy also served in the National Guard for 2 years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Odom-Maddux.
Survived by his wife, Jewell Odom, of 68 years, since 1953, still residing in Cleveland; eldest son, Doug (Janice) Odom with David (Peggy) Odom; youngest son, Dennis Odom; only daughter, Dana (Christopher) Clayton, all of Cleveland, TN. Roy and Jewell have 6 grandchildren; 9 greatgrandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Faith Memorial Church, 910 17th St NW, Cleveland, TN 37311, followed by a service at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Jimmy Dupree, officiating. A private burial will be held at Fort Hill Cemetery.
