William Raymond "Big Ray" Bicknell Jr.

William Raymond “Big Ray” Bicknell Jr, 77, of Cleveland, TN passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018.

Ray was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 7, 1941 to William R Bicknell Sr and Margaret Ford Bicknell who preceded him in death. He was of the Baptist faith. Ray graduated from Central High School in 1959 and later received his master journeyman and State of TN and later GA plumbing certifications.

Ray owned his own commercial plumbing, heating and air conditioning company in the Chattanooga area, Ray Bicknell Plumbing and Heating, for over 30 years. He was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing boating, scuba diving, and working on his cattle farm.

Ray lived life to its fullest with a mischievous sense of humor and resilient gumption. He loved to laugh and joke with friends and family, enjoyed traveling and loved Alabama Football.

Ray’s family would like to thank Ivy McConnell for her care of Ray during his illness and all staff members of the Bradley County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their care, love & support during his final days.

Closed casket receiving of friends will be held at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland TN on Tuesday, July 31st in Cleveland, TN from 4:00-6:00 pm est. A private burial will be scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or American Heart Association.
