William Phillip "Bubba" Reinhardt

William Phillip Reinhardt “Bubba” 77, of Memphis, TN went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2020. Born November 4, 1942 in Memphis, TN. Phillip was the son of the late P.S. Reinhardt and Evelyn Reinhardt. Phillip graduated from Treadwell High School in 1961. He played football for the Eagles, and was All Memphis in 1960 playing linebacker on defense and center on offense. He was also a light heavy weight Golden Gloves champion during this time. In 1961, he went on to play football for the LSU Tigers, earning a full scholarship. He married the love of his life in 1962, JoAnne Bullard Reinhardt. He trained and became a City of Memphis Fireman. He served with distinction as a Lieutenant, earning accolades and saving numerous lives. He retired after 25 years of service. He then taught Residential Construction at Bartlett High School where he volunteered in classrooms of students with disabilities for 11 years before retiring from the Shelby County School System. During this time, he built homes for his company P & L Homes named after his daughters.
He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school to preschoolers for many years.
His hobbies included working in his woodshop and in his garden, fishing with his grandkids, reading his Bible and being in nature. The outdoors were where he felt closest to the Lord. What he loved the most was being with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Sparks and Evelyn Reinhardt.
He is survived by wife, Joanne Reinhardt of Chattanooga, TN; Daughters and Sons-in-Law, Tim and Lisa Long of Chattanooga, TN; and Bill and Phyllis Morgan of Germantown, TN. His grandchildren Austin Long of Atlanta, GA; Hunter Long of Chattanooga, TN; Alex Kesner of New York, NY and Chase Kesner of Memphis, TN; and his sisters Judy Sarsgaard of Fairfield, CT and Mary Springer of Eureka Springs, AR.
