William "Willie" Peels

William "Willie" Carl Peels, aged 82, of Old Fort, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, craftsmanship, and a profound love for the outdoors. Born on September 8, 1941, in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, to Roy and Loraine Peels.

He is preceded in death by his caring parents, Roy and Loraine Peels; his sister, Regena Headrick; and his brothers, Eugene and Stanley Peels. William leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance as the beloved husband of nearly 62 years to his wife Clara Peels, with whom he entered into matrimony on January 14, 1962. His spirit is carried on by his son, Eddie Peels (Lisa) of Old Fort, TN; his daughters, Kristi Swafford (Joe) of Calhoun, TN, and Dana Carter (David Snider) of Tellico Plains, TN; his sisters Wilda Hardin and Ginger Peels; his brothers Danny and Chuck Peels; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Peels of Cleveland, TN; and his cherished friend, Mary Fansler of Cleveland, TN. His memory will be a beacon of joy for his 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with one more soon to light up the world.

As the proud owner of C&W Woodworks, William was renowned for his unique furniture designs, reflecting the precision and creativity that defined his work ethic. His craftsmanship was matched only by his love for hunting, fishing, and birdwatching, activities that connected him to the earth and the community where he was a respected member at Little Conasauga Baptist Church.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM with the celebration of life ceremony to follow at Little Conasuaga Baptist Church in Crandall, GA. The interment will follow at Towee Falls Baptist Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains. Pastor Billy Webb and Chuck Peels to officiate.
