Obituary for William Bruce Friar

October 13, 1953 - September 18, 2024

William Bruce Friar, 70, of Chattanooga, TN, but resided in Rossville, Ga, passed away on September 18, 2024. Born with an adventurous spirit and a love for the great outdoors, William found his greatest joy in deer hunting. His passion for 30.06 rifles and exploration of the mountains on ATVs was a testament to his adventurous nature.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Friar; mother, Elizabeth Ellis; and brothers, Butch Gatlin and David Friar.

William leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his sons, William (Brandy) Friar and Chris (Tara) Friar; daughters, Jennifer (BJ) Wilson and Kristi (Aaron) Legg; grandchildren, James and Caleb Friar, Samantha and Sara Friar, Brilee, Kinslee and Chase Wilson, Parker and Scarlett Legg; sister, Patsy Walker.

William's legacy of love and passion for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Care of William Friar was entrusted to Companion Funeral and Cremation Services, Chattanooga Chapel.
