William “Dewayne” Vaught, age 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2021, following a brief illness.
He attended Westmore Church of God and was retired from Bowater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rosalia Vaught; brother, Donald Vaught; sisters, Louise Vaught and June Palmer
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Vaught; daughter Kim Vaught of Robbinsville, NC; daughter Colette Mayton (Jamie) of Cleveland; his son Aaron Vaught of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Mayton and Brandon Mayton (Crystal) and four great grandchildren, Kamden, Selena, Tanner and Kayleigh.
His love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting were evident by all and his laugh and jokes were infectious.
A Celebration of Life & Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at Westmore Church of God with the Rev. Kelvin Page officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 13, 2021 prior to the service.
