William Dancy "W.D" Mccraw, Jr.

William "W.D.” Dancy McCraw, Jr., 60, of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019. He had lived most of his life in the Richmond, Cartersville and Cumberland, Virginia area before moving to the North Georgia area almost 10 years ago. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Tabernacle and was a Truck Driver by trade for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, any type of racing and riding motorcycles. He loved to play pranks on family & friends and was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband and grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean McCraw.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debra Kay Surber McCraw; father, William Dancy & (Helen) McCraw, Sr.; children, Brian Wayne & (Niki) Bishop, William Dancy McCraw, III, Jennifer Christine Hunter, Melissa Kay & (Michael) Thomason, Matthew Ryan McCraw, Carol Elizabeth McCraw, Alan Jackson & (Brooklynn) Bishop; grandchildren, Dustin Shane Bishop, Morgan Brianna Bishop, Robert Alexander Bishop, Memphis Jackson Bishop, Denver McCraw Bishop, Briella Kay Apostal, Emily Mae Apostal, Piper Hope Keeling McCraw; brothers, Wayne Taylor McCraw, Robert Edward & (Janet) McCraw, Earl Nichols & (Donna) McCraw; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 great niece;2 great nephews and one yet to be determined and numerous extended family & friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Memorial Baptist Tabernacle with Bro. Kevin Weaver officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
