William Lamar Clontz (Bill), 76, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Cleveland, TN. Bill was born July 30, 1948 in Griffin, GA, to Samuel Clontz and Edna Crowder. He attended high school in Griffin, GA and later attended Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA. He retired as a supervisor from Mental Health in Dublin, Georgia.
Survivors include his daughters Tara Clontz, of Soperton, GA and Marlana Sealy (Lee), of Cleveland, TN. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Bryce Magwood, Kenley Magwood, Jason Sealy, Jasper Sealy, Kelby Magwood, Justin Sealy and Cheyenne Chamblee as well as his sister, Nancy Cochran, of Griffin, GA, several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Becky Harris, of Griffin, GA.
Bill was best known for his love for his family, quick wit, ability to make every stranger a friend and his genuine care for others. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He also had a love for football and baseball, especially the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Braves, and he loved to fish. He also served in the United States Army.
Bill was preceded in death by his father,Samuel Woodrow Clontz and mother, Edna Gertrude Crowder, one sister, Telethia, and 5 brothers- Michael, Kermit, Kenneth, Lonnie and Pee Wee.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Assembly of God in Soperton, GA with visitation following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bill's name to Georgia First Bank in Soperton, Georgia.
