William "Bill" Franklin Stewart

Obituary
William “Bill” Franklin Stewart, 76, affectionately known by friends and family as “Papa Smurf” went to his heavenly home on August 14, 2012 surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Collins Stewart, and infant daughter, Misty Renee Stewart. Bill was also preceded by great granddaughter, Erowyn Kimsey. Left to cherish his memories include his children: Melissa “Missy” Calfee (Bryan), Robert Stewart, Rhonda Newman (Mark Hampton); grandchildren: Thomas & Carolyn Kimsey, Tyler Kimsey, Thomas J Barnhill, Kristen Hancock, Andrew and Taylor Newman; great grandchildren: Elizabeth and William Kimsey and Alyia Hancock and his sisters: Emma Jean Ingram of Athens and Rosa Lee Byrum of Cincinnati, OH and several nieces & nephews.
Throughout his life he had numerous jobs including carpenter, dairy farmer, pulp wood cutter, but his most recent, which he was most known for, was a house mover where he was best known as the “man on the roof.”
The family will receive friends at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN, 37311 on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 1:00-4:00pm with a small memorial time at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request that any donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga located at 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN, 37416.
