Obituary
William Mallen Bill Casteel, 73, a resident of Cleveland, TN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, May 19th, 2015. He was born on July 10th, 1941 to the late Otto and Girthel Casteel. Bill served 25 years as a deacon at Eastside Church of Christ and as an elder at Union Grove Church of Christ for the past 2 and a half years. He retired from Cleveland Chair Company in the Catnapper Division after 40 years plus. Bill received an honorable discharge from the United States Army.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years Shirley; children, Rodney (Becky) Casteel and Tina (Johnny) Nix; grandchildren, Matthew Casteel, Heather (Travis) Cline, Ryan Nix, Kelsey Nix, and Abbie Bentley, and one great-grandchild, Bayleigh Cline.
A celebration of life service is planned for 7:00pm on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the Eastside Church of Christ located at 252 Wildwood Avenue with brothers Steve Hall and Bill Maynard officiating the service.
A visitation period will be held 3 hours prior from 4:00pm until the 7:00pm service time.
Pallbearers include: Matthew Casteel, Ryan Nix, Travis Cline, Johnny Nix, Bill Flowers, and Donald Fugate.
In lieu of flowers donations made to either Avalon Hospice of Athens or the Union Grove Church of Christ.
